May the 4th is known as the unofficial Star Wars Day and SWGoH has planned several features to celebrate the day.
Players can explore the fictional Star Wars galaxy in this mobile collective game, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (SWGoH).
Since the game is based on the classic Star Wars series, you are likely to encounter characters, locations and storylines in the game as those in the franchise.

Star Wars day
May the 4th, also known as Star Wars day, has no single point of origin. It also has no official commencement year and no formal dedication. It is simply a phenomenon that now transcends the English language pun that inspired it.
The earliest use of the phrase, ‘May the 4th be with you” dates back to 1978, one year after the release of Star Wars: A New Hope. Star Wars day was inspired by the classic phrase, “May the Force be With You”, which was heard in A New Hope.
It was on May 4, 1979, that the first known instance of “May the 4th be with You” occurred. Since then, die-hard fans of Star Wars have used May 4th to celebrate the franchise.
SWGoH: May 4th 2023
On Wednesday, 12 April 2023, SWGoH revealed the roadmap for April 2023, wherein they also announced that with May the 4th around the corner, there were exciting features planned for the special day.
Since it is a tradition, SWGoH players will receive a unique portrait, title and various goodies in their inbox as a special gift.
The title you will receive is Survivor and its description is explained as follows: “Hope will always survive in those who continue to fight. Like you, BD-1.”
Players will also obtain a free May the 4th Calendar, which features MG-100, TIE Echelon, Outrider, Raven’s Claw, TIE Defender, Omegas, Ship Materials and Core Gear.
Bear in mind that you can claim additional rewards by visiting the Web Store. Players who visit the Web Store will acquire a free Revenge of the Fifth Calendar. It consists of Omicron, Kyrotechs and G12 Salvage.
In addition to the new portrait and title, you will receive several materials, some of which are:

Double Drops Schedule for May the 4th 2023
From Thursday, 4 May 2023, until Sunday, 7 May 2023, players can claim double drops by participating in specific activities. You can acquire double drops from Light and Dark side battles, Cantina Battles, Fleet Battles and Mod Battles.
In order to gain as many items as possible, we recommend that you participate in these activities every day while double drops are active.
What should you do with character shards?
To celebrate Star Wars Day, SWGoH is offering various character shards to players. These character shards allow you to add a character to your collection, however, you need to acquire a specific number of shards before you can unlock the character.
It is important to note that 5 character shards are not enough to unlock the character, but it may save you some time. You therefore have to participate in numerous activities to obtain the remaining character shards.
