STFC: Unique Specimen mission

Update 55, which was released on Tuesday, 6 June 2023, introduced various new missions to the game, one of which is Unique Specimen. This quest can be acquired by traveling to the level 32 system, Ba’Neth.

Keep in mind that this system requires a warp range of 25, which means that if you are a low-level player, you will not be able to complete this quest as your warp range is too low.

Once you have accepted the quest, you need to investigate the coordinates in Ba’Neth.

Players have to destroy the Vaadwaur Battleship, which has 153 150 battle power. After vanquishing the enemy, you must create a diversion and donate 4 million Parsteel.

The quest will then indicate that you must find a safe location and therefore, you have to go to Think Tank.

You then have to make a decision which will determine the rewards that you earn for completing the quest.

STFC players can either decline Tarnos’s offer or share a copy of Maia. After deciding, you have to leave the subspace and return to the Think Tank to collect your rewards.

Think Tank

Think Tank is a level 35 neutral system that does not feature any housing, however, there are numerous enemy species you can encounter in it.

These include Lost Gorn Warships, Lost Nausicaan Outlaws, Lost Scouting Bandits, Lost Orion Slavers, Lost Sona Pirates and Lost Andorian Bounty Hunters.

Furthermore, you could also come across Hirogen Hunters, which drops Hirogen Relics. In addition to the Unique Specimen mission, you have to visit Think Tank for the Undercut and Waste Management Part 1 missions.

The rewards you receive for completing the Unique Specimen mission are determined by whether you decline Tarnos’s offer or share a copy of Maia:

Decision Rewards
Decline the offer
  • 1 x Tom Paris
  • 16 x 10 000 Dilithium Tokens
  • 9 x 8 Hour Speed Ups
Share a copy of Maia
  • 1 x Tom Paris
  • 5 x 100 000 Tritanium Tokens
  • 3 x 1 Day Peace Shields

What to do after completing Unique Specimen

Once you have completed the Unique Specimen mission, you will gain access to part 1 of the Waste Management mission. This mission requires a warp range of 26 and can be accepted in the Think Tank system.

For this quest, you must find a Vaadwaur ship, destroy an enemy vessel, donate 1 million Tritanium and follow directions to the potential colony. Before you can collect your rewards, you have to go to Tolonus.
