STFC: Hirogen

In STFC, players can vanquish a new enemy type, Hirogen, in a new space region, Delta Quadrant, to earn rich rewards.

In this exhilarating video game, Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC), players can build ships, harvest resources, defeat enemies and complete space-based missions.

Scopely, STFC’s developer, recently released the patch notes for update 54, which introduces a new enemy to STFC called Hirogen.

STFC: Update 54

Update 54, which was released on Tuesday, 9 May 2023, introduces several new features to the game and fixes a range of issues. Players can now enjoy a new region of space, the Delta Quadrant and construct a new building – The Artifact Gallery.

Furthermore, you can put your combat abilities to the test by attempting to destroy a new enemy species, Formation Armadas. If you defeat this new enemy, you will be rewarded with Artifact shards, which are used in the Artifact Gallery.

You can also complete several new missions in the game and collect 2 new officers, The Doctor and B’Elanna Torres. Both officers have unique abilities which can have a great impact on your gameplay.

STFC: Hirogen

The Delta Quadrant is a massive, sprawling unknown space that gamers can explore. For the month of May 2023, there are 2 entry points from which to start your exploration.

Players level 34 and higher can use the Border of the Depths of the Delta Quadrant, where they will find core missions, new Hirogen hostels and Lost Hostiles.

According to Star Trek lore, the Hirogen are a nomadic humanoid species and faction originating from the Delta Quadrant. They hunt other sentient beings to challenge their skills and earn trophies as well as reputation with other members of their species.

During Romulan Empress Sela’s exile between 2387 and 2403, she made contact with Hirogen hunters and conscripted them into her service. In exchange for their support, Sela gave them the right to hunt in the territory of the Romulan Star Empire.

The Hirogen have now made their way to STFC, and players can find them in the Delta Quadrant.

Unfortunately, you need to be at least level 26 to enter the new system and even if you are level 26, you may find it difficult to vanquish the Hirogen, as they are extremely powerful.

To celebrate the new enemy type, players can enjoy several in-game events that require you to defeat Hirogens. The Field Testing event will take place on May 13 and 14, 20 and 21 as well as 27 and 28.

Its official description reads, “Commander, Holographic Ship Technology is a new experience and we want to ensure that the Titan and the Cerritos abilities will work in the Delta Quadrant, in the same fashion we are accustomed with.”

For this event, you have to defeat Hirogen Hunters or Lost Hostiles in the Delta Quadrant. Moreover, you can accumulate additional points when you defeat the enemies with the USS Titan or USS Cerritos buffs applied.

Cat and Mouse

Cat and Mouse is an in-game event that occurred on Tuesday, 9 May 2023. Allegedly, the event will also occur on Friday, 12 May 2023 and Wednesday, 24 May 2023.

The event description states, “Even in the Delta Quadrant, we just can’t seem to get along with everyone. Lost Hostiles seem to have pulled into the Delta Quadrant the same way Voyager was, and now Hirogen Hunters are all around us.”

Players can score points in this event by destroying Lost Hostiles and Hirogen Hunters in the newly-discovered Delta Quadrant systems.

How to defeat Hirogen enemies

As previously mentioned, the Hirogen enemies are extremely powerful, and it is highly likely that a level 26 player will not be able to vanquish them.

On the STFC official Discord channel, some players have shared that they encountered level 45 Hirogen enemies.

Although they are high-level enemies, you can defeat them the same way you would have defeated a low-level enemy. Players should ensure that they have a powerful ship with crew members with fantastic abilities to be successful in the battle.

The Killing Game

The Killing Game is a solo Milestone event for players level 20 to 60, though there are different level brackets. Although there are varying level brackets, the event remains the same.

Its official description reveals, “Hirogen Hunters have captured some of your fellow commanders and are forcing them to attack you in an effort to determine the most worthy prey for themselves.”

The Hirogen Hunters have allegedly set specific coordinates to test the capabilities of certain ships. You have to use your most applicable ships to take out your fellow commanders before they destroy you.

Any damage dealt in Rovah between any of the following ships will score points:

  • Newton
  • Pilum
  • Korinar
  • Enterprise-A
  • Tribune
  • Hegh’ta
  • USS Northcut
  • Corvus
  • Vor’Cha
  • USS Crozier
  • Sanctus
  • Quv’Sompek
