Stardew Valley’s Qi Beans

Players will discover various seeds in Stardew Valley, one of which is the Qi Bean; however, it can only be found while the Qi’s Crop quest is active.

Overview

Stardew Valley is a well-known simulation role-playing video game. It is developed by Eric Barone and was initially released for Microsoft Windows in 2016. However, it was later released for PlayStation 4, the Mac operating system, Linux, Xbox One, Android, PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Switch.

At the first start the game, players will be able to create a character. The character soon becomes the recipient of a small house and a plot of land situated in Pelican Town. Players are given the opportunity to select a farm type. It is important to note that each farm has a unique theme as well as different benefits and drawbacks.

The farm is initially overrun with stumps, trees, boulders and weeds. It is thus the players’ responsibility to clean up the farm. Once the farm is clean, players can begin with livestock and crops. As players progress in the game, they are able to expand their farm’s facilities and buildings. Additionally, they can generate a revenue.

Players are able to socialize non-playable characters (NPCs) that inhabit the nearby towns. When players have formed a relationship with an NPC, they are able to marry them. Marriage results in the NPC helping the player’s character look after the farm. Additionally, players can go fishing, cook means, craft goods and explore procedurally generated caves. In the caves, they can also hunt creatures and mine ores.

The game also features various quests. Players can complete these quests in order to earn money, or to complete specific collections of materials. Players use these materials, also called bundles, to restore the town’s Community Centre.

Players will be rewarded with various items, including tools and seeds, if they complete a bundle. However, completing multiple bundles grants them access to new game mechanics and new areas, including a desert.

It is important to note that all of the above-mentioned activities are metered against the character’s exhaustion level and health, as well as the game’s internal clock. Players are able to consume food, which grants buffs, that is useful in certain activities and situations.

Players should remember that food is a source of replenishing energy and health. Food thus enables the them to complete more tasks in a day. Additionally, it is important to note that the game uses a simplified calendar.

Each year consists out of four 28-day months, that represent each season. The season determines which crops can be grown, and which activities can be beneficial. However, later in the game, players can restore a greenhouse that can grow any crop, regardless of the season.

Qi Bean

In Stardew Valley, players will discover various seeds, including the Qi Bean. This seed can be found throughout the mainland. Additionally, it can be obtained on Ginger Island during the quest, Qi’s Crop. When the quest is active, players can find the seed by chopping down tress, cutting grass, breaking rocks, fishing and killing monsters.

Additionally, the seed can be found from crash cans, breaking geodes, digging artifact spots and shaking palm trees. Players also stand a chance to obtain it by opening chests and breaking crates in the Volcano Dungeon. Those who do not want to farm, can make the seed by placing a Qi Fruit in a Seed Maker.

It is important to note that all Qi Beans and Qi Fruit will despawn when the quest is over. This includes growing crops, chests, kegs, inventories, preserves jars and Marlon’s item recovery service list.

Crop information

In order to grow a Qi Fruit, players will have to plant a Qi Bean. Luckily, these seeds can be planted in any season. It is recommended that players water the plant everyday to produce a Qi Fruit. Players should also remember that the plant takes four days to mature.

The following table indicates the stages of the growing plant:

Tips for Qi Beans

Qi Bean

It is important to note that fishing treasure chests can yield one or more stacks of four beans during the quest. It is thus clear that fishing is a reliable source of the beans when it is combined with the treasure hunter tackle and the pirate profession.

Players have a chance to obtain up to five Qi Beans when breaking any type of Geode. Additionally, placing a Qi Fruit into a seed maker, and planting the resulting bean will nearly double the Qi Fruit supply. Players should be aware that Qi Fruit produced early in the quest can be doubled several times with this method.
