Raid: Shadow Legends: Dupe System

In Raid: Shadow Legends, players can collect various characters; however, some have obtained the same character more than once.

Overview

Raid: Shadow Legends is a fantasy-themed mobile game, set in the fantasy world of Teleria. However, the world has recently been colonized by the Dark Lord, Siroth. It is now up to the players to retake the planet.

The game consists of multiple activities for players to do. Additionally, they are able to explore various in-game areas. However, it is advised that they familiarise themselves with the Affinity system before they participate in an activity or go exploring.

There are four different types of Affinities in the game, and players will need to have knowledge of them all to be successful in combat.

They should remember that three of the Affinities exist in balance with one another, while the other one offers no particular advantages or disadvantages over the others. The following table indicates the name of the Affinity and its properties:

Name of Affinity Properties
Magic (Blue) It has an advantage against Spirit, however, Magic is weak against Force Affinities.
Void (Purple) The Void Affinity features no counter, or weaknesses, against other Affinities.
Spirit (Green) Even though Spirit has a disadvantage against Magic, it is strong against Force.
Force (Red) This Affinity is strong against Magic but has a disadvantage against Spirit.

Once players understand all the Affinities, they are able to assemble an army of Champions They can use their Champions for battles in temples, castles, deserts and dungeons.

These areas are usually defended by various enemies. Players should ensure that their Champions are strong enough to win the battles.

When players first start playing Raid, they will have to play a tutorial mission to learn the gameplay. After the tutorial, they will be able to choose their first Champion. It is important to note that there are four types of Champions: Support, Health Points, Defence and Attack.

Each type of Champion features distinct skills and abilities. Players should thus choose their Champion wisely. Players are able to collect more Champions by using Shards, which contain the souls of ancient warriors.

Once the players have collected the required Shards, they can summon a warrior at the in-game Summoning Portal. It is important to remember that there are four different Shards, and each summons a different type of Champion.

The following table indicates the different Shards and the rarity of warriors each Shard can summon:

Shard name Rarity of warriors
Sacred Shard With this Shard, players stand a 94 percent chance at obtaining an epic Champion. However, it has a six percent chance to summon a legendary Champion.
Void Shard A Void Shard has a 91 percent chance of summoning a rare Champion. Additionally, it has an eight percent chance of summoning an epic Champion, and a 0.5 percent chance for a legendary Champion.
Mystery Shard The Shards have a 74.2 percent chance of summoning a common Champion. Additionally, it has a 24.4 percent chance to summon an uncommon Champion, and a 1.4 percent chance to summon a rare Champion.
Ancient Shard Players have a 91.5 percent to obtain a rare Champion with this Shard, but there is an eight percent chance that it will summon an epic Champion, and a 0.5 percent chance for it to summon a legendary Champion.

It came to light that many players managed to obtain the same character more than once. Subsequently, the game’s developers, Plarium, announced in October 2021 that they will introduce a new duplicate system in the game.

Raid: Shadow Legends: Dupe System

As duplicate Champions is a multi-faceted issue, Plarium analysed a variety of situations. They identified a few issues that different groups of players faced. Due to the different situations and issues, they had to come up with a multiple solution.

Every player in the game is aware of the Sparring Pit in their Bastion, however, it has recently been upgraded. The Guardian Ring now features Champion Empowerment, Faction Guardians and Champion Unbinding.

Faction Guardian

The Faction Guardian tab will let players assign duplicate Champions of different rarities to become Faction Guardians. This means that it will boost the statistics of all Champions of the same rarity in that faction.

Champion Empowerment

For this, players need to select a Legendary Champion and feed them their duplicates to permanently Empower them. It will also give them an additional statistic boost. Players can feed a Champion up to four times.

It is important to note that they will permanently lose the Champions they use to empower another. Players should thus carefully consider which Champions they use for empowering.

Some of the Champions do not feature duplicates, the developer thus assigned other Champions to act as surrogate duplicates. For example, players will use Visix to empower Lydia.

Champion Unbinding

Players should be aware that this feature is also exclusive to legendary Champions. For this feature, players can permanently release their Legendary duplicates to obtain a special resource called Life Tokens.

This means that they will lose the duplicates forever. However, players can use the tokens to purchase a Champion from the Token Trader.
