PSO2: NGS recently announced that they have collaborated with Melty Blood, which is a popular 2D fighting video game.
Gamers are invited to experience the Artificial Relict to Keep Species (ARKS) in this exciting video game, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis.
This game is an updated version of the classic Phantasy Star Online 2. Since the New Genesis version was released 10 years after its predecessor, you can expect new content, graphics, and mechanics.
The game contains various activities and occasional events for you to enjoy. It is alleged that the various events keep players engaged in the game. To motivate players more, PSO2: NGS recently revealed that they are collaborating with Melty Blood: Type Lumina.

PSO2: NGS announced on Sunday, 31 July 2022 that they are collaborating with Melty Blood: Type Lumina. Melty Blood is a 2-dimensional (2D) fighting game series drawn in the world of Type-Moon’s fabled novel, Tsukihime.
Melty Blood has more than 10 characters from the classic novel. At the beginning of the game, players have the opportunity to choose their favourite character. In addition to all 10 patterns of character colour variations, you can also customise your favourite colour variations.
The visuals of the characters have recently been updated according to the new Tsukihime, and it is also compatible with the new high-definition environment.
Players can enjoy special moves and battles in the fictional world of Tsukihime as a fighting game with battle animations by 2D characters.
After creating and customising your character, you can defeat opponents with numerous attacks that are unique to each character. You can enjoy these battles by making full use of easy-to-operate powerful techniques, such as Rapid Beat.
This skill allows you to perform consecutive hits by pressing the attack button in succession. It is alleged that players will experience some of these characters and skills in PS02: NGS when the special event launches.

Can you play Melty Blood as a standalone game?
Melty Blood is a standalone video game that can be enjoyed on various platforms, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and your personal computer (PC).
Players who are interested in experiencing Melty Blood before the collab launches can purchase the game for approximately $16.15. Bear in mind that it is not necessary to play Melty Blood before the collaboration event starts in PSO2: NGS.
However, it is recommended that you have a bit of context on Melty Blood’s characters and features as these may appear in PSO2: NGS, in the collaboration.
When will the PSO2: NGS x Melty Blood collaboration launch?
As previously mentioned, additional details regarding the collaboration will be announced at a later stage. It is thus still unclear when the collab event will commence, and of what it will consist.
That being said, players have created their own theories, one of which claims that the collaboration event will kick off in October 2022.
Another theory believes that players will be able to collect various Melty Blood outfits for their PSO2: NGS characters during the collaboration event.
