In PSO2: NGS, players can find different squids, and one of them can be exchanged for valuable items.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (PSO2: NGS) is an exciting video game that combines strategic battles with role-playing features. As the game’s name suggests, it is an updated version of the classic game, Phantasy Star Online 2.
Thus, you can expect a few similarities between both games, however, NGS invites players to enjoy new graphics, gameplay, and content. The game takes place in the persistent realm of Halpha, approximately 1000 years after the events of Oracle.
As the player, it is up to you to team up with a mysterious ally to defeat a new, powerful enemy known as the DOLLS. During your mission, you will discover several regions, one of which is Kvaris. It has an abundance of resources and materials that you can collect, including squid.
Gathering materials
Players can get materials from many sources, including the mission pass and from the login bonus. However, the most common method to use to acquire materials is by gathering them while exploring the vast open world.
Gathering is the act of mining and foraging for unique materials and resources. The items you gather can be used to modify weapons in the Item Lab, or they can be used to cook recipes with the Quick Food menu.
It is noteworthy that PSO2: NGS does not have a stamina system in place for gathering. This means that what players see in the field is what they get.
PSO2 NGS: Kvaris squid
PSO2: NGS has an array of regions to explore, each of which features an abundance of unique materials to gather. Keep in mind that some materials can only be gathered in a certain area.
This means that the only region where you can gather squid is in Kvaris, or more specifically, in Central Kvaris.
There are 2 types of squid you can gather in Central Kvaris, namely Crisp Kvaris Squid and Notable Kvaris Squid. Crisp Kvaris Squid increases your character’s health points and weak point damage, and reduces its cold damage.
Although the Notable Squid has the same effects, it can be exchanged for items in certain areas of the game. Players should note that they can use both types of squid to make Quick Food.
It can be made at any Ryuker Device, or at the Food Stand, which is in Central City. Although you can use the Notable Squid to make food, it is advisable that you rather use it to get valuable items.
The Kvaris Exchange shop allows players to exchange materials for items that they may find useful. The shop can be accessed by talking to Reso in Kvaris Camp, but you first have to complete Reso’s tasks.
