Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (PSO2: NGS) is an exhilarating video game that combines strategic battles with role-playing features.
Since it is based on the classic video game, Phantasy Star Online, you will likely experience similar elements. That being said, NGS was released a decade after its predecessor, so players will be able to enjoy updated graphics.
As the player, you are part of the Artificial Relict to Keep Species (ARKS) organisation to team up with a mysterious ally to defeat a powerful threat. In addition to the main quest, players can explore a vast, open world, participate in events, and complete side quests.
NGS’ developer, Sega, recently announced a collaboration event with Hololive, but it is only active for a certain period of time.
What is Hololive?
Hololive Production is a virtual YouTuber agency that consists of an all-female talent group. Hololive frequently uploads 3 dimensional (3D) animated videos and an array of shows to their official YouTube channel.
The variety of Hololive talents’ include singing, chatting with viewers, gaming, and collaborations, among other things.
The Hololive talent group has various talented artists, including Tokino Sora, Aki Rosentha, Shirakami Fubuki, AZKi, Hoshimachi Suisei, and Kazama Iroha. Players can open their YouTube channels to view their content.
However, some Hololive talents host live events, where you can interact with the 3D anime characters by asking them questions and interacting with them.
PSO2 NGS: Hololive
In August 2022, Sega revealed that they will be hosting a PSO2: NGS event in collaboration with Hololive. The event, Holo Tour, started on 24 August 2022 and concluded on 21 September 2022.
During this time, players had to log onto NGS to receive in-game stickers:

It is noteworthy that if a character on an account uses the same sticker twice, it will be registered as used for all characters on the same account. Players were able to collect their gifts through the Receive Campaign items in the System Menu in NGS Blocks.
Moreover, you could use AC Scratch items to dress up as Shirakami Fubuki, NinomaIna’nis, and Kageyama Shien. While the event was active, your characters got a 20 percent experience points boost, which makes it quicker to level up.
Additionally, players could also enjoy an in-game exclusive original short anime. The clip was displayed on the giant monitor in Central City, which is one of the main areas in the game.
The Holo Tour takes you to several locations in NGS, including the Kvaris Region, the Retem Region, and Aelio. At the end of the tour, you have to defeat a powerful enemy called Dark Falz.
When is the next Hololive collaboration?
The Hololive collaboration event concluded on 21 September 202, but there is a possibility that the event will take place in the near future again, though this is yet to be confirmed.
It is advised that players keep an eye on NGS’ event schedule and announcements to see when the next Hololive collaboration will take place. In the meantime, you can enjoy an array of activities and other events in the game.
How to equip a Hololive costume
After getting a costume or an outfit from the AC Scratch items, you have to travel to the Salon to equip it. Players can talk to the Salon staff non-player character, Eterna, which you can find in the main plaza.
While talking to her, she will offer to take you to the Salon, and if you accept her offer, the character editing screen will open. In the new menu, you can equip the costumes that you acquired during the Hololive event.
You will get access to the Hololive costumes even though the collaboration event has concluded.
Can you change the colours of the Hololive costumes?
Players can change the colours of the Hololive costumes if they have a Color Change Pass. If you have a pass in your inventory, you can select the applicable option from the menu on the left.
If you are editing a CAST, you have to select a colour and select, or adjust it according to the description at the bottom of the screen.
For all other races, you can select outfit colour and then select the outerwear colour.
