Punishing: Gray Raven dorm guide

Punishing: Gray Raven (PGR) features a housing system based on dormitories, where players are able to decorate, interact and assign chores to their Constructs to earn rewards.

Punishing: Gray Raven (PGR) is a popular mobile action role-playing game. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world and is overrun by corrupted cybernetic enemies caused by the Punishing Virus. The game allows players to lead a squad of up to three characters, known as Constructs, against the corrupted and other opposing forces to retake the planet.

Constructs can be improved by levelling up their weapons and gear. Players are able to unlock additional Constructs by advancing in the main story. However, players can obtain more Constructs through a gacha machine and the in-game events. The in-game currency can be obtained through in-app purchases and playing the game, which are used to obtain Constructs and equipment. The game features a “pity system”, which ensures that the player will receive rare items after a certain number of pulls.

Punishing: Gray Raven also features a housing system in the form of dormitories (dorms). Dorms allow players to interact with their Constructs. They feature various rooms which players are able to unlock using Residence Permits. Once a room is unlocked, players are able to enter and decorate the dorm with a variety of décor. The décor can increase comfort statistics, and players can place Constructs with their preferred dorm to increase Stamina and Mood recovery.

The game currently features three comfort statistics, Utility, Comfort and Beauty. The highest statistic of each dorm will be displayed with a symbol of the Comfort and the amount of Comfort it has.

Daily Missions

In the dorm system, players will discover a Daily Missions tab in the top right corner. When players click on the tab, they will find a list of daily missions. Most of the missions are quite easy to complete. For example, for the “No Work No Gain” mission, players need to assign three different Constructs to do dormitory chores.

Players can click on the first slot to select which Constructs they want to assign to do the chores. It is important to note that assigning a Construct to a chore will consume Stamina. After selecting the Constructs, players will be able to see how much Stamina it costs and the time it will take to complete the chore. At the bottom of the screen, players can view the coin output.

It is recommended that players always select the Constructs with full Stamina. After clicking on the ‘Begin Chores” option, the Constructs will commence their chores. The “Pat a Construct” Daily Mission is also very easy to complete. After selecting the ‘Advance’ option, players will be taken to a dorm. To complete the mission, players need to click on a Construct before selecting the ‘Pat’ option.

After completing the Daily Missions in the dorms, players will be able to claim multiple rewards.

How to decorate a dorm

In a dorm room, players can select the ‘Decorate’ button on the bottom right of the screen to enter the decorating mode. A new menu will pop up where players will be able to see all of their available furniture. The furniture is divided into different sections, including, wall, small, all, large, floor and ACCY. Players can select one of the options to select a furniture piece.

After choosing a furniture, players can click on it to place it in the dorm. Players can select where they want to place the item before clicking on the ‘Confirm’ tab. Players are able to undo the decorating by selecting the ‘Back-based’ option featured in the bottom right corner of the menu. When the player is happy with their decoration, they can select the ‘Save’ option. Selecting the Save option will save all the new furniture and changes made in the dorm room.

Dorm shop

To access the Dorm Shop, players need to click on the menu tab before selecting the shop option. A new menu will open where players can buy various furniture pieces. On the left side, players will discover the three categories, Dorm Coin Shop, Décor Coin Shop and Black Card Shop.

The following table indicates which items players can purchase in which distinct category:

Category Items available for purchase
Dorm Coin Shop ·       Coating Sketches

·       Resident Permits

Décor Coin Shop ·       Cyber Décor

·       Cyber Blueprints

·       Café Décor

·       Café Blueprints

Black Card Shop ·       Cyber Décor

·       Cyber Blueprints

·       Café Décor

·       Café Blueprints

Dorm Coin Shop

In the Dorm Coin Shop category, players will be able to purchase Coating Sketches and Residency Permits. It is recommended that players first purchase some Coding Sketches before purchasing a Resident Permit.

Players can use Coating Sketches to buy additional skins for their Constructs. In the main game menu, players can access the shop where they will find the Coating Shop. Players are only able to purchase items in this menu using Coating Sketches. For example, if they want to purchase a Coating Blueprint, they will need to have 25 Coating Sketches. When players have 90 Coating Blueprints, they will be able to purchase one of the Gray Feathers Coating skins.

It is important to note that it will take a lot of time to obtain 90 Coating Blueprints. Therefore, it is recommended that players do a lot of research on the various skins, and possible event skins, before purchasing a skin.

Players are also able to purchase Resident Permits in the Dorm Coin Shop. PGR initially gives players four Resident Permits. This means that players only need to purchase one additional permit to unlock a new dorm.

Décor Coin Shop

The Décor Coin Shop is divided into different sub-categories; Cyber Devor, Cyber Blueprint, Café Décor and Café Blueprint. In Cyber and Café Décor, players will be able to purchase various distinct décor using Core Coins.

In the Blueprint categories, players are able to purchase a variety of blueprints. These can be combined with another furniture item in order to obtain the blueprints item. To use the blueprints, players need to go to the ‘Build’ menu. In the menu, players can select the modify tab to enter a new menu. They can then add a décor piece and a blueprint to craft a new furniture item. For example, if players add a Computer Desk and an Office Desk Blueprint, they will obtain a new item.

The new furniture item’s rating is completely random. However, players should aim to obtain an S-rated item. It is also important to note that all ratings offer different statistics. For example, the A rated item has a 10 percent Stamina recovery rate of all the residents in the dorm. It also improves the mood of the Constructs in the dorm by 10 percent.

After combining the furniture piece and the blueprint, players will discover if the process was successful or not. If the process was successful, players can then view the item’s rating before choosing to recycle or set it in the dorm. If players choose to recycle the item, they can repeat the process for a chance to get a higher ranked item.

Black Card Shop

It is recommended that players avoid the Black Card Shop entirely. Players should thus not spend their Black Cards in the shop, but instead save them for pulls. The only time players should purchase an item from this shop is when the game introduces a new, exclusive furniture that offers some amazing statistics. However, players can also buy the furniture piece if they really want it.

Crafting furniture

When crafting new furniture for the dorms, players can choose how many points they want to allocate to the Beauty, Utility and Comfort of the item. It is important to note that each Construct has things that they favour. Players should thus craft items that their Constructs like.

It is recommended that players organize their Constructs into dorms based on what they like. This means that players should place Constructs with the same likings in the same dormitory. Organizing Constructs this way makes it easier to decorate the dorm with items they like.

Why players need additional dorms

In Punishing: Gray Raven, players are able to expand their dorms with six rooms. This means that players will be able to house more Constructs. Players are able to interact with their Constructs while they are in their dormitories. If a player notices a blue arrow above a Construct, they should talk or interact with the specific Construct.

After interacting, the construct will offer the player a gift, which could be a Dorm Coin. However, the Constructs can offer other gifts as well, including a gift box containing various items. It is also possible that the Constructs can offer players nothing. Thus, having more Constructs means that players can interact more, which can result in more rewards.

Conclusion

In Punishing: Gray Raven, players are able to organize their Constructs in a housing system based on dormitories. The dorms allow players to interact with their Constructs in order to obtain rewards. Players are also able to decorate each dorm according to the Constructs’ liking.

Players can unlock more dorms by purchasing Resident Permits in the Dorm Coin Shop. It is important to note that players need to have five Resident Permits before they are able to unlock an additional dorm. It is recommended that players unlock all six dorms in order to house more Constructs. More Constructs means that players have a chance to obtain more rewards.
