OSRS: Praying Respects

The Praying Respects fragment allows players to automatically bury bones and scatter ashes in OSRS, but it can only be unlocked by training prayer.

Overview

Old School RuneScape (OSRS) is an adventurous massive multiplayer online video game that contains  role-playing and adventure elements.

It is set in a persistent world where players can interact with the environment and with fellow players in different gaming modes, namely player-versus-player and player-versus-environment modes.

The game features numerous activities and events for you to enjoy. Keep in mind that the in-game events, also referred to as leagues, only occur for a certain period of time. In the event, you have to perform certain tasks like collecting fragments.

What is a fragment?

As you advance in the game, you will come across several fragments, which are the results of The Sage shattering relics into fragments and scattering them across the map. They are weaker in isolation compared to relics from previous leagues.

The fragments can be combined to form incredibly powerful set effects. Players are limited to a set number of active fragments at a time, with a maximum of 7. You can exchange your fragments by going into a bank and standing near a bank chest or by being near The Sage.

OSRS: Praying Respects

Players should remember that Praying Respects is a skilling-type fragment that buries bones and scatters ashes in the Shattered Relics League automatically. It comprises different levels, each of which has unique effects.

The following table outlines the different levels and their effects:

Level Effect
1 The remains are automatically scattered and buried, which grants 50 percent of the Prayer experience
2 Players will receive the full Prayer experience for burying or scattering remains
3 You will receive double the Prayer experience when scattering or burying remains

Players who wish to unlock this feature should invest some time in training prayer. Prayer is a non-members combat skill and is improved by burying bones and using them on an altar in a house owned by a player.

You can also upgrade this skill by using it on the altar in the Chaos Hut and by praying at the Ectofuntus with bonemeal and buckets of slime.

What is the Shattered Relics League?

The Shattered Relics League was the third league in OSRS. The league revolved around collection and adventure. It was the first league to expand the lore of the game mode with the introduction of The Sage.

In this league, players had access to the entire map, however, they did not have full access to their skills and bosses.

You could also unlock your character’s skills and additional bosses through the use of Sage’s Renown –  a type of currency earned by completing tasks in the league. Furthermore, you could earn league points and use them to purchase cosmetic rewards.

How to use Praying Respects

As previously stated, Praying Respects is a fragment, and as such, should be treated like other fragments in the game. This means that you have to slot the Praying Respects fragment in order to activate it. Once it has been slotted, you will be able to bury bones and scatter ashes automatically.

Players should note, though, that they might have to remove a fragment before they can slot Praying Respects. This is because every player only has a certain number of fragment slots available.

You can increase these slots by completing tasks to reach the next fragment tier; this will unlock an additional fragment slot.

Which other fragments were available during the Shattered Relics League?

In addition to Praying Respects, players could acquire different types of fragments. The following table lists some of these fragments and their effects:

Fragment Effect

Alchemaniac

Players will receive extra coins when casting High Level Alchemy on items

Catch of the day

All types of fishing activities have a chance to roll the rare drop table once

Larger Recharger

Players will have their special attack energy restored within a specific period of time

Tactical Duelist

Melee weapon charges have a chance to be saved

Zamorakian Sight

When you have 4 Zamorakian items equipped, your accuracy for magic attacks is increased
