What is a season reset?
A season will usually last a few months, and when it comes to an end, the game’s developers perform a season reset. This essentially means that the regions and all tiles your faction has captured, will reset.
Your settlement’s progress will also reset and you will have to start from the beginning once the new season starts.
Players should note, however, that all the equipment and Commanders they have collected in a season, will not reset, but will be carried over to the next season. A season reset gives everyone a fair chance to begin a new chapter.
It is a clean slate, where nobody is at a disadvantage, or has an advantage over another faction or other players.
LOTR: Rise to War Season 3
Season 3 of LOTR: Rise to War commenced on 10 February 2022, and brought with it new commanders, factions, and troops, among other things.
Keep in mind that the commanders and troops that you can collect are determined by your faction. This means that you are not able to collect all the new commanders.

In addition to new commanders, you are also able to hire new neutral units. Keepers are powerful Elven units with the potential of dealing Focus damage, while Seafarers are melee units that excel at Crossing, by gaining a 50 per cent damage buff.
Vanguards are powerful neutral units that can boost their own damage when they are combined with undead allies. Wraiths are undead melee units that are able to reduce enemy defences by no more than 50 per cent.
Are there new factions in season 3?
Season 3 introduced 2 new factions, namely, Gundabad and Variags. Gundabad is located in the north of the Middle-earth, east of Angmar.
This means that they have the potential to expand either east or west of the Misty Mountains. Gundabad members have access to Eagles, Wraiths, Vanguards and Beornings.
Variags is situated to the east of Mordor, but to the south of Rhûn. Members of this faction will have nowhere to expand to without fighting their neighbours.
Moreover, they are not placed near any decent neutral units. It is, therefore, advised that only experienced players choose Variags as a faction if they are up for a challenge.
New equipment

When will season 3 end?
As mentioned above, a season generally lasts a few months. At this moment it is unclear when season 3 of LOTR: Rise to War will end. Though the game’s developers will announce in the near future when the season ends, and when the season reset will occur.
