New or returning Lost Ark players can kickstart their journey through Arkesia by joining a fresh-start server, which will be introduced to Lost Ark in September 2023.
Lost Ark is a thrilling video game that invites gamers to dive into the epic lore of Arkesia. You can test your action combat skills and learn how to customize your fighting style with diverse character classes.
The game’s developer, Smilegate, recently announced that Jump-Start servers, otherwise known as Fresh Start servers, will be introduced to the game.
Lost Ark: Fresh Start Servers
On Wednesday, 9 August 2023, Lost Ark revealed part 3 of their 2023 Road Map. The Road Map includes quality of life updates, balance tuning, adjustments to support new and returning players, as well as unique events.
In the past year, the developers conducted focus groups and other feedback mechanisms to understand what may be preventing interested players from playing the game again.
The study found that gatekeeping, bots and the daily grind prevented new and returning players from trying Lost Ark.
It is known that several parts of the game require several players to complete and by bringing together a big group of Jump Starters at the same time, the developers expect the early and mid-game to feel much livelier.
Smilegate also wants to reduce gatekeeping in raid lobbies.
How many Fresh-Start Servers will be introduced?
According to the Road Map, there will be a Fresh-Start server available in every region.
Players will get a South Vern pass to jump-start a character to Item Level 1415 instantly. Keep in mind that the Fresh-Start servers will be isolated from other servers.
This means that the Fresh-Start servers will have independent matchmaking, party finders, marketplaces and auction houses. This allows restarting players to have an independent experience which is unaffected by existing servers.
How does a Fresh-Start server differ from other servers?
In addition to instantly jumping to Item Level 1415 in the game, players on Fresh-Start systems will receive materials that allow faster horizontal and vertical advancement.
Some of the materials that restarting players will receive include honing materials and cord packs, among other things.
These layers will also benefit from the ongoing Super Mokoko Express event which begins on all servers in August, and which goes up to Item Level 1540.
By participating in this event, Fresh-Start players will get an abundance of free honing materials in a special event shop to help them reach Item Level 1580 quicker.
Part 3 of the Lost Ark Roadmap announced new features that players can expect to be introduced in September 2023, October 2023, November 2023 and December 2023:
