How to reset 8BitDo controllers
Like with other hardware products, you may encounter errors with your 8BitDo controller at one point or another. Fortunately, these issues can be fixed quite easily by following a few simple steps.
Once you have discovered a problem with your controller, press and hold the start button for approximately 8 seconds. You should then press and hold left 1(L1) and right 1 (R1), and the start buttons down for 3 seconds to activate the controller’s pairing mode.
This mode is signified by a red power light-emitting diode (LED). Users are then able to pair the controller with their gaming platform, whether it is a personal computer, an Xbox or a Nintendo Switch.
After pairing your controller, you can go to 8BitDo’s support page to get Upgrade Tools, which will upgrade your controller’s system. Bear in mind that each operating system (OS) has a differing download option.
Once the application has been downloaded, you can connect your controller to your PC via a universal serial bus (USB). Users can select their controller or adapter from the list of products and update its system.
