The Abyssos is a unique raid in FFXIV, however, it features a unique looting system as players will receive tokens instead of gear.
Gamers can enjoy adventure and simulation elements in this popular video game, Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV).
As its name suggests, this game is part of the classic video game series, Final Fantasy, and therefore, you will likely experience the same mechanics and gameplay throughout the games in the franchise.
FFXIV takes place in the vast open world of Eorzea, in which you can interact with players and with the environment. After completing the introductory missions, you can partake in various activities and occasional in-game events.
One of the features that you can enjoy in FFXIV is the Abyssos, which has a unique looting system.
Abyssos
Abyssos is the second tier of the Pandemonium raid series, which was released in the FFXIV Endwalker expansion. It invites players to team up with Erichthonios and Themis to dive into the past of major Ascian foe, Lahabrea.
This raid is currently the highest challenge as of patch 6.2. Players that are interested in procuring the best gear in the game should attempt to complete it weekly before the lockouts and resets happen.
To unlock Abyssos, you have to complete the level 90 quest chain that starts with An Unwelcome Visitor. You can pick up this quest by talking to Claudie in Labyrinthos.
FFXIV: Abyssos loot table
The Abyssos in FFXIV has 4 floors, otherwise referred to as circles. To unlock each floor, players have to continue the quest line and complete the consecutive floor. Bear in mind that each floor is listed individually.
For every floor that you complete, you are rewarded with a treasure coffer which, unfortunately, does not yield gear, but it yields tokens that can be exchanged for gear of your choosing. The tokens that you can receive in each circle are:
Circle | Tokens |
The fifth circle |
|
The sixth circle |
|
The seventh circle |
|
The eighth circle |
|
You need a specific number of each token before you can get the corresponding gear piece:
Token name | Quantity needed to get a gear piece |
Unsung Helm of Abyssos | 2 |
Unsung Armor of Abyssos | 4 |
Unsung Gauntlets of Abyssos | 2 |
Unsung Greaves of Abyssos | 2 |
Unsung Chausses of Abyssos | 4 |
Unsung Ring of Abyssos | 1 |
Players can acquire up to 1 piece per circle a week. So it is advised that you carefully decide which gear you want to roll for and claim.
Abyssos normal
Each of the four fights in Abyssos normal will drop a number of Unsung tokens. Players can only collect 1 a week, for a total of 4 weeks. Additionally, you can get 1 Unsung Blade of Abyssos for defeating Hephaistos weekly.
It is important to note that each boss drops specific tokens, which are:
Item | Boss to defeat |
Helm | Players can get these tokens by defeating Proto Carbuncle, Hegemone, and Agdistis |
Body | You get the chance to obtain body tokens by defeating any boss in Abyssos |
Hands | All bosses have a chance to drop hand tokens |
Legs | These tokens are dropped by all bosses |
Feet | It can be obtained by defeating Proto Carbuncle, Hegemone, and Hephistos |
Accessories | The accessory tokens are dropped by all bosses |
Abyssos savage
In this mode, the quantity of loot that spawns is determined by how many players have previously cleared the fight for the week.
If no one has, then 2 coffers spawn, but if 1 to 4 players have completed it, then 1 coffer spawns. However, if 5-8 players have completed the raid, no reward spawns.
When a coffer is used, it generates an item which corresponds to your current job. This means that the items can be saved for other jobs. Possible drops include the following:
Boss | Possible loot |
Proto Carbuncle | Any 2 accessories |
Hegemone | 1 or 2 pieces of head, hands or feet |
Agdistis | 1 Head, hands or feet item as well as 1 leg item |
Hephaistos | 1 weapon; a body or weapon piece |
Where to exchange your tokens
Once you have enough tokens, you can interact with Mylenie in Labyrinthos, or with Djole in Radz-at-Han to collect the gear that you want. The non-player characters can be found at the following coordinates:
NPC | Coordinates |
Mylenie | X: 3.8 Y:27 |
Djole | X: 10.3 Y:9.6 |
