During Evony’s Clash of Civilizations – Assault event Monarchs can vanquish Shadow of Dawn monsters and bosses to earn rewards
Evony players can now participate in the limited event, Clash of Civilizations, which requires that Servers fight each other and occupy a variety of buildings to score points.
The number of points you earn will determine the rewards that you earn when the event concludes.
Before you can participate in this event, you need to be one of the top 25 players during the Clash of Civilizations – Assault event. To score points in the Assault event, players have to defeat Shadow of Dawn monsters and occupy buildings.
On the world map, you will find Shadow of Dawn event monsters which range from level 1 to level 10. Although their maximum level is 10, they are quite easy to kill.
That being said, you can also discover Shadow of Dawn bosses, who are essentially regular bosses with the Shadow of Dawn effect.
This means that there is a chance that the Shadow of Dawn bosses could drop the Lunar and Solar Sight buffs.
In order to find the Shadow of Dawn monsters and bosses, players have to open the world map where the other monsters and bosses can be found.
Unfortunately, you have to scan the map to search for the Shadow of Dawn monsters and bosses. Currently, you will not be able to find these monsters as the Clash of Civilizations – Assault event has concluded.
If you were not in the top 25 players of the Clash of Civilizations – Assault event, you will not be able to participate in the Clash of Civilizations event, which is currently active.
Buffs
If you defeat a Shadow of Dawn monster or boss, there is a 10 percent chance that you could receive either the Solar Sight or Lunar Sight buffs.
These buffs are extremely similar, however, one buff is for when you attack, and the other is for when you defend:

| Lunar Sight | It grants you a 300 percent increase in health points, defense and attack when defending. This buff is consumed after each attack, but it can be stacked up to nine times. |
| Solar Sight | This buff grants Monarchs a 300 percent increase in defense, attack and health points when attacking. It is also consumed after each defense and can be stacked up to 9 times. |
How to defeat a Shadow of Dawn monster
Although the Clash of Civilizations – Assault event has concluded, several players believe that the event will return to Evony in the near future.
The level 1 Shadow of Dawn monsters are much easier to vanquish than the level 10 monsters, however they are still considered easier to defeat than the Shadow of Dawn bosses.
In order to get the above-mentioned buffs, players have to defeat the monsters alone, without help from your Alliance members or friends.
To successfully defeat a Shadow of Dawn monster, you have to follow player-versus-environment mechanics.
We recommend that you select a General who specializes in defeating monsters, but you should keep in mind that your General should also correspond with your troops.
This means that if you choose a Ranged General, you should select Ranged troops.
Shadow of Dawn bosses
Before you attempt to fight a Shadow of Dawn boss, we advise you to ask for help from your Alliance members as these enemies are much more difficult to defeat than monsters. However, if your army is strong enough, you can defeat the boss as a solo player.
You should use mounted troops led by a strong mounted General, who is equipped with mounted gear and is your best bet to effectively defeat the boss.
You can also join a rally if you are in an Alliance. Joining with a single troop minimizes wounded for you and the rally starter. You can also send a General to gain experience points.
Clash of Civilizations
The Clash of Civilizations event is currently active and if you are participating in this event, you need to fight another server to gain rewards. This battle will last for 2 hours with a 5 minute grace period at the start.
To win the fight, you can occupy the neutral buildings as well as enemy buildings to earn battlefield scores. You can also destroy the Shadow of Dawn buildings to receive buffs and earn scores.
Evony players will also be able to vanquish Shadow of Dawn monsters and bosses to earn points, but you should keep in mind that defeating a boss will reward you with more points than defeating a Shadow of Dawn monster.
