As you advance in Evony, you will find various gear and items, one of which is dragons, which are able to increase your Generals’ abilities and statistics.

You can take on the role of either a lord or lady in Evony: The King’s Return, which is an exciting role-playing game. Since it is based on the popular video game, Evony, you can expect similar content and gameplay.

It is set in a fictitious, fantasy world during medieval times, where you can control a city or an alliance to become a powerful monarch.

It features numerous activities for you to participate in, but you have to solve puzzles to advance in the game. These puzzles are the stages, or levels that you need to complete to unlock the following level.

Why are items and gear important?

Even if sometimes the items in the game may seem unimportant, they can have a great impact on your game. This is because some items have the ability to increase your general’s statistics and power, while others can impact your troops on the battlefield.

That being said, you can still enjoy the game without any items or gear, but it is recommended that you make use of them, as it can make your gameplay and battles much better and easier.

Subsequently, you could gain experience points much faster and level up more quickly in the game.

Evony: Dragons

One of the aspects that you will discover in the game is dragons, which are seen as support gear that you can equip your Generals with. They are able to increase and improve the Generals’ skills, statistics, and abilities.

The game currently features 7 unique dragons, each of which have their own buffs. You can select which buffs you want to activate through a process called refinement.

Please note that you have to train and level up a dragon in order to increase the number of buffs your General can receive. Many players believe that dragons are better than spiritual beasts, as they can give you 3 to 4 times more buffs.

Some Generals have abilities that will only be activated if you equip them with a dragon. It is thus advised that you check your General’s abilities, to see what type of dragon you need to activate their specific skills.

What are the different types of dragons?

As previously mentioned, there are 7 dragons in the game, however, they can be divided into 2 categories: Pasture Dragons and Sacred Dragons, also known as Dragon Criff. The following table indicates the dragons according to their categories:

Dragon buffs

It is clear that each dragon has the ability to provide your troops and Generals with specific buffs. The table below indicates all the dragons, and some of the buffs they provide:
