Although there are puzzles that you can solve in Evony: The King’s Return, it is not the main objective of the game.
In this exhilarating video game, Evony: The King’s Return, you can assume the role of a lord or lady in medieval times. The objective of the game is to expand your empire by constructing buildings, harvesting resources, and training troops.
Evony is well known for its advertisements, however, gamers who have played Evony will know that the game is nothing like its advertisements. Therefore, some players have questioned whether there are puzzles in the game or not.
Evony’s advertisements require that players solve a puzzle. During the advertisement, you will see a character who is blocked by a pin. Generally, the puzzles also feature an enemy, a trap, and a treasure chest.
It is your responsibility to clear a path for the character to avoid the enemy and the trap to reach the treasure chest. Some puzzles can be difficult to solve while others are simpler.
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the puzzles, as Evony is nothing like its advertisements. Gamers assume that the game revolves around solving puzzles, but the main objective is actually expanding an empire.
Does Evony actually have puzzles?
Evony’s advertisement creates a false perception of the game. Numerous gamers assume that they only have to solve puzzles to progress in the game. Whereas in reality, there are several features that you can enjoy in Evony.
However, this does not mean that there are no puzzles in Evony. There are puzzles that you can solve in order to earn rewards, but it is not the main objective in the game.
Moreover, the puzzles are not mandatory, which means that you can enjoy the game without solving a puzzle.
For players who are interested in solving puzzles, you can select the “Mysterious Puzzle” icon in the bottom left corner of the main screen. In the puzzle menu, you will find that there are different regions, each of which consists of varying levels.
You have to complete all the levels in a region before you can move to the next region. To solve a puzzle, click on an unlocked region. You will then discover all the levels that you have to complete in order to unlock the following region.
It is worth noting that attempting to solve a puzzle does not consume Vigor. However, if you have failed a puzzle, you can consume 1 Vigor to skip the level.
Vigor regenerates by 1 every 10 minutes, however, you can only have 3 Vigor at a time. If you decide to skip a puzzle, you can try to complete it again at any time.
Every time you successfully solve a level in a region, you will be rewarded with an item. For instance, you can receive a 5 minute speedup for construction by completing one of the levels in the Egypt region.
There are also treasure chest puzzles you can solve, but keep in mind that these puzzles do not count towards the completion of the region.
Gamers will be rewarded with numerous items if they complete a treasure chest puzzle. The items that you receive from the puzzles can be used to progress in Evony.
You can use the resources, speedups, experience point items, and gold to expand your empire further.
Are puzzles mandatory?
As previously mentioned, the puzzles are not mandatory, which means that it is not required that you solve a puzzle to progress in Evony.
You can therefore play the game without solving a puzzle. However, the puzzles reward you with useful items, which you may need to progress in the game.
Although the puzzles are not mandatory, it is advisable that you do solve some of them to obtain items that you may need.
Can you procure Generals from solving puzzles?
Generals are one of the key elements in Evony, and therefore, players should attempt to recruit as many Generals as possible. Once you have completed a certain number of puzzles, you could unlock a General without paying for him or her.
For example, after solving 10 puzzles, you will unlock Cleopatra, who was the last active pharaoh of Ptolemaic Egypt.
Once you have unlocked a General through solving puzzles, you can use them to lead your army to harvest resources or to attack an enemy on the world map.
