Diablo Immortal players can now craft 5-star gems using Telluric Pearl, which is a new currency that has been added to the game.
In this exhilarating mobile game, Diablo Immortal players have to collect shattered fragments of the corrupted Worldstone to save the world.
As its name suggests, the game is part of the classic Diablo series, and it is set between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. You are likely to encounter alike regions, aspects, mechanics, and gameplay in the series.
When you first start playing the game, your main priority should be on completing some main story arc quests. While advancing in the game, you will accumulate various weapons and gear pieces. Players can slot gems into their gear to receive benefits.
Diablo Immortal recently introduced the Telluric Pearl, which is a currency that is used to craft 5-star gems.
Gems
Gems are rare and they can increase the strength of your character and equipment. There are various types of gems with different abilities in Diablo Immortal. The following table lists each type of gem and a description of each:
Gem | Description |
Topaz | It boosts your resistance, which minimises the duration of debuffs applied on your character |
Citrine | It increases your Potency and as such, extends the duration of any debuffs applied on enemies |
Aquamarine | By using this gem, your armour stat will improve, which maximises your tanking abilities |
Sapphire | This gem increases your character’s Armour Penetration, which increases your critical hit chance |
Tourmaline | It boosts your damage output |
Ruby | By using this gem, your life stat will be increased. It thus maximises your survivability |
Diablo Immortal: Telluric Pearl
Gems in Diablo Immortal have a star rating that determines their rarity, abilities, and strength. A 5-star gem is rarer and more powerful than a 1-star gem. Unfortunately, 5-star gems only have a 1 percent drop rate.
However, players can purchase 5-star gems with real-life money, which has stirred quite a bit of controversy. Many Diablo Immortal players have revealed that the game is pay-to-win, as they have to purchase 5-star gems.
Fortunately, the developer, Blizzard, recently added the Telluric Pearl currency which can be used to craft a 5-star gem.
In order to craft a 5-star gem, you need approximately 40 Pearls. Keep in mind that this does not necessarily translate to a 5-star ranking for that gem, or a high overall power level, which can require a tremendous upgrade grind on its own.
There are currently 3 ways you can obtain Telluric Pearls. You can trade your Hilts with Lieutenant Fizriah, who is the Hilt Vendor in Westmarch. Allegedly, you can get 1 pearl a week for 800 Hilts.
Players can also earn Pearls by participating in limited-time events, but it is unknown how many pearls you can procure and which events it will be.
Alternatively, you can procure pearls by purchasing specific in-game bundles, like the Seeker’s Supplies and the Rift-Runner’s Supplies bundles. The Seeker’s Supplies bundle will refresh in the shop every Monday and Thursday, instead of every 3 days.
Trading Hilts is the best for free-to-play players. However, crafting a gem this way takes approximately 40 weeks, which is 280 days. Ideally, your character has to have 6 Legendary gems equipped, meaning that it will take a long time to craft a Legendary gem with Pearls.

How to equip a gem
Equipping a gem to your equipment is a straightforward process in Diablo Immortal. You simply have to open your character menu, select a piece of equipment with an empty socket and you will find the option to equip gems at the button of the information panel.
You should note that you can only equip gems into gear sockets of corresponding colours. For red items, you can equip Rubies and Tourmalines, while Blue is reserved for Sapphire and Aquamarine. Yellow, on the other hand, is for Citrine and Topaz.
Unlike Legendary Gems, you can only socket normal gems into secondary gear, which is neck, fingers, head, waist, and feet.
How to upgrade Legendary Gems
Legendary Gems can be upgraded to improve their abilities. To upgrade a Legendary Gem, you need gem power, which you can obtain by dismantling spare Legendary Gems at the Apprentice Jeweller.
You will also need duplicate Legendary Gems of the same type. However, the duplicates are not required for all upgrade levels.
