Diablo Immortal’s new Season Pass allows players to acquire the new 2-Star Legendary Gem, Grim Rhythm and it has amazing effects
On Monday, 15 January 2024 Blizzard announced the Season 22 Battle Pass for Diablo Immortal. This content update introduced the balance changes for Battleground, Rite of Exile, the Plague Reaper Battle Pass as well as a range of bug fixes.
During the new battle pass, Plague Reaper, you have to track down and stamp out the source of disease.
Similarly to other battle passes, Plague Reaper hosts 40 ranks worth of challenges and rewards. If you progress through the battle pass, you can earn Crests and Hilts, among other rewards.
Starting with this battle pass, you can choose between getting 2 Telluric Pearls, the Fervent Fang 2-Star Legendary Gem or the new Grim Rhythm 2-Star Legendary Gem.
You can acquire the new Grim Rhythm from Rank 40 of the Battle Pass and at Ranks 1, 20 and 40 of the Empowered Battle Pass.
However, this Gem can also be acquired from the Boon of Plenty, which can be found by opening the in-game shop. Players can purchase the Boon of Plenty with real money, but it will only remain active for 30 days.
When purchasing the Boon of Plenty, you will receive 2 Legendary Gems, 7 Legendary Crests, 30 Crests and 30 Red Gems by the end of the 30-day cycle.
Players should note that they can only purchase the Boon of Plenty 3 times for a total of 90 days.
Additional items
The Plague Reaper Battle Pass allows players to choose between 2 Telluric Pearls, the Fervent Fang 2-Star Gem or the Grim Rhythm 2-Star Gem.
Before you decide which item you want, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with what each item is used for and what its effects are:

| Telluric Pearls | If you select this item, you will be able to craft 5-star Legendary Gems. However, you can acquire this item by trading hilts with Lieutenant Frizriah, or by participating in the Zone Promotional Event and the Hungering Moon event. |
| Fervent Fang 2-Star Gems | Every time you deal damage to an enemy, that enemy takes 0.80 increased damage from your attacks. |
Grim Rhythm’s effects
Once you have acquired the Grim Rhythm, whether through the Battle Pass or Boon of Plenty, you can equip it to your character’s gear to activate it.
When this Gem reaches rank 10, dealing damage will increase your Attack Speed by 2.4 percent for 3 seconds, however, this effect can stack up to 10 times.
When it reaches 10 stacks, your Movement Speed is increased by 12 percent. According to YouTuber, Zonshini, this Gem is extremely valuable for the player-versus-environment game mode due to its attack speed increase and stacks.
However, Zonshini advises players to not use this Gem for player-versus-player, as you will not benefit from its effects.
Which item should you choose?
All 3 options that you can choose from have amazing effects and can help you progress significantly in Diablo Immortal.
Fervent Fang is one of the most important 2-star Legendary Gems that you can use in the game, especially for PvP. If you participate in the PvP game mode regularly, we recommend that you acquire the Fervent Fang.
However, if you prefer PvE, the Pearls or the Grim Rhythm is the better choice. Telluric Pearls are used to craft 5-star Legendary Gems, however, it takes months to craft a gem.
We therefore recommend that you choose the Grim Rhythm 2-Star Gem, as you will enjoy instant benefits once you have equipped it.
How to update the Grim Rhythm 2-Star Gem
Diablo Immortal players should note that they cannot upgrade a Legendary Gem’s star rating or star tier, however, you can upgrade its rank.
Once you have the Grim Rhythm 2-Star Gem, you can upgrade it to enhance its capabilities. To upgrade this gem, you need Gem Power, which can be obtained by dismantling other Legendary Gems at the Apprentice Jeweler.
In the Gem menu, you can select the small square icon and then select the Gems that you want to break down to improve the Grim Rhythm 2-Star Gem in the upgrade menu.
However, you can also select the “Auto Fill” option if you do not mind what Gem turns into Gem Fragments.
You can upgrade the Grim Rhythm 2-Star Gem to rank 10, but the higher the rank is, the more Gem Fragments you are going to need to improve it. Some rank upgrades even require a duplicate of the same Gem to complete the upgrade.
