Diablo Immortal players can now enjoy fishing in their free time, however, there are only 3 fishing locations in the game.
Diablo Immortal invites fans of the series to uncover the untold history of what took place between Diablo II and Diablo II.
Similar to its predecessors, the game takes place in the horrific world of Sanctuary, in which you can enjoy several activities, including fishing.
When was fishing added to Diablo Immortal?
Blizzard, the game’s developer, regularly updates Diablo Immortal to ensure smooth gameplay. These updates also introduce new features and activities for you to enjoy. On 20 February 2023, Blizzard shared the patch notes for an update.
This update allows players to collect 36 new Legendary items, but it also resolved some bugs. Most notably, the update introduced a fishing activity.
Diablo Immortal players can now spend their free time by catching rare and legendary fish. However, there are some requirements you have to meet before you can start fishing.
Diablo Immortal: Fishing guide
The official description reads, “Cast aside your weapon, weary adventurer, you have sent enough demons home. A tranquil new pastime is available for you – it is time to go fishing!”
It is, however, important to note that only players level 43 or higher can travel to Bilefen to begin the quest, The Greatest Pastime.
This quest will start you on your path to become the best angler ever. By obtaining this quest, you will receive a fishing rod. After completing the quest, you can begin your pursuit of Sanctuary’s underwater dwellers.
There are 3 fishing locations in the game, namely Frozen Tundra, Bilefen and Ashworld Cemetery. These areas are marked with a fish icon on the zone map.
Fortunately, these areas are Safe Zones, which means that you cannot be attacked by monsters while you are fishing.
Players should remember that they are only able to fish within a designated fishing spot. Therefore, you cannot fish in all Sanctuary’s zones.
Before fishing, you need to visit a Fisher, who can be found within the safe zone. You can purchase fish bait from the vendor. Each attempt at fishing will consume one piece of bait.
Although you can purchase unlimited bait, you can only hold 99 pieces of bait in your inventory.
You can start fishing by clicking on the Rod icon next to your skill buttons. You have to choose where within the fishing spot to cast your line.
After releasing the button, a timer will appear at the top of your screen. This time displays white, blue and gold colored fish icons.
When should you reel in?
The timer at the top of your screen will pass each of the 3 fish icons. When you decide to reel in a catch is completely up to you, but the longer you leave your bobber, the higher probability you have to catch a rare fish.
However, you should not wait to reel in for too long as the fish will grow restless and disappear when the timer fills up. All caught fish will go directly into your inventory.
Once you have caught a few fish, you can go to the fishing vendor to exchange the fish for rewards. The rarer the fish you catch, the better the rewards you can exchange it for.
Angler’s Log
There are more than 30 fish you can catch in Sanctuary’s fishing locations. Each species has a preferred habitat and can only be caught there.
Within the Bestiary Angler’s Log section is an entry for each fish species. This lists their preferred habitat along with the number you have caught.
There are also Angler’s Log rewards for dedicated players to collect by catching specific amounts of unique fish species.
Fish locations
Fish are categorized according to their rarity. However, their rarity does not determine the location where they can be caught. It all comes down to their preferred habitat.
