The Echoing Shade in Diablo Immortal is a 5-star Legendary Gem, but it is considered weak when compared to other gems.
Diablo Immortal is a thrilling game that invites players to uncover the untold story of what took place between Diablo II and Diablo III.
This mobile game is quite similar to its predecessors, as you will encounter similar gameplay and mechanics while exploring the vast open world of Sanctuary like never before.
Players begin their adventure in the city of Wortham, which is being threatened by cultists and the undead. As you progress through the storyline, you will gather a range of gear pieces.
Gear and weapons can be improved by slotting a gem. One of the gems you can acquire in Diablo Immortal is Echoing Shade.
Gems
Gems in Diablo Immortal provide you with various bonuses when slotted into your gear. There are many different gems that you can acquire, however, Legendary Gems offer the greatest bonuses. That being said, Legendary Gems can only be slotted into Legendary Gear.
Moreover, you can only allocate a Legendary Gem to your primary gear, which allows up to 6 gems in your build at a time. The process of socketing Legendary Gems is identical to normal gems, but you cannot equip duplicate Legendary Gems.
There are 3 tiers of Legendary Gems, namely 1-star, 2-star and 5-star gems. It is worth noting that 5-star gems are the rarest and most powerful, and 1-star gems are quite weak and easy to get.
Diablo Immortal: Echoing Shade
One of the 5-star Legendary Gems that you can acquire in Diablo Immortal is the Echoing Shade, which provides combat rating and resonance.
This gem also has quite a unique gem ability, as there is a 15 percent chance that you could summon a Shadow Clone for 20 seconds, which gains some of your abilities. Players can have up to 3 Clones active at a time, whose life is then increased by 100 percent.
In order to obtain Echoing Shade, you have to complete Elder Rifts using a Legendary Crest. Alternatively, you can craft it with Runes at the Jeweller or purchase it with Platinum at the Marketplace.
This gem can be equipped into any primary gear slot, like your main hand weapon, off-hand weapon, helm, chest, shoulders, and pants.
It is purported that this gem is only useful on Demon Hunter and Necromancer characters since it uses your primary skills. However, this does not mean that you should not use the gem for other classes.
Similarly to other Legendary Gems, the Echoing Shade can be upgraded, but upgrading the gem requires Rank 1 duplicates:
Rank | Rank 1 duplicates required | Gem power |
2 | Not applicable | 50 |
3 | 1 | 75 |
4 | 1 | 100 |
5 | 5 | 250 |
6 | 6 | 375 |
7 | 12 | 725 |
8 | 12 | 725 |
9 | 18 | 1075 |
10 | 18 | 1075 |
Unfortunately, this gem is regarded as weak against the other 5-star Legendary Gems. It is thus advised that you prioritise other Legendary Gems with your resources.
Elder Rifts
Elder Rifts are an essential part of progressing your character, as it acts as a repeatable activity to earn Legendary Gems. In order to get a Legendary Gem, you either need to use Crests or Legendary Crests.
The activity is unlocked during the Westmarch questline quite early on in the campaign. Once you have access to Elder Rifts, you can revisit this activity anytime to farm gems.
To complete an Elder Rift, you have to kill numerous monsters and pick up the Progress Orbs from slain Elite enemies.
Your progress is tracked by a bar in the upper right corner, and once the bar is full, all regular enemies and Elite monsters will disappear, and the Rift Guardian will spawn.
The Jeweller
Jewellers are non-player-characters (NPCs) that allow you to manage and upgrade your gems. You can also craft Legendary Gems at a Jeweller if you have the required materials to do so.
If you are interested in crafting a Legendary Gem, you have to acquire a rune, as each gem requires specific types of runes. Runes can be obtained by completing Elder Rifts, however, you can also purchase runes from the Fading Embers trader.
Once you have the required rune, you can interact with any Jeweller and select the Craft tab. In this menu, you can discover a list of all the craftable Legendary Gems.
What is the best Legendary Gem?
It is alleged that the best Legendary Gem in Diablo Immortal is the Blood-soaked Jade. Not only does this gem increase your damage, but it also provides increased movement speed, which makes farming and completing Elder Rifts more efficient.
