Diablo 4: Eastern Gatehouse Stuck

Players may have to exit Diablo 4 completely to resolve the Eastern Gatehouse bug, however, the bug will be resolved before the game’s official release.

Diablo IV is an upcoming action role-playing video game with an open world. Although the game is yet to be released, an open beta was released on Friday, 24 March 2023.

The open beta allows fans of the Diablo series to enjoy the game, however, these players are experiencing bugs. One of the most frustrating bugs occurs at the Eastern Gatehouse, where players get stuck.

Diablo 4 Gameplay

Before you can enjoy the open beta, you have to create a character. Five playable classes have been announced: Barbarian, Necromancer, Druid, Sorceress, and Rogue.

You can guide your character through quests and combat in the world of Sanctuary as the once defeated Lilith returns to wreak havoc.

Diablo’s gameplay focuses on collecting stronger equipment gradually by defeating increasingly difficult enemies. You can fight enemies using character class skills, which can be customised by equipment and talent trees.

Creative director of the game, Sebastian Stepien, revealed that the goal was to create a more grounded story than that of Diablo III. Therefore, Diablo 4’s plot revolves around the simple folk of Sanctuary.

Diablo 4: Eastern Gatehouse Stuck

At one point in Diablo 4’s open beta, you have to enter the city of Kyovashad. In order to enter the city, you have to complete the Rite of Passage quest. Since this is a main story quest, you have to complete it to progress in the game.

Once you have completed the quest, you will be able to enter the city, and this is where some players are experiencing a bug.

Allegedly, if you try to walk through the Eastern Gatehouse gates, the game keeps rubberbanding you backwards, which makes it impossible to enter the city.

Some players are not experiencing the rubberbanding, instead, their character just does not run past a certain point on the map. One player stated that it is as if there is an invisible wall in the game that prevents players from entering the city.

If you are experiencing this issue, we recommend that you go back to the character selection screen. If you enter the game again, your character will spawn at the waypoint inside the city.

However, this method may not work. Players may have to exit Diablo 4 completely to spawn inside the city.

If you still cannot enter the city through the eastern gate, you may have to run to another gate to access the city. Once you are inside, you can unlock the fast traveling point in the city.

Some players said that they cannot exit the city through the eastern gatehouse, but now you can use the fast travel system. Alternatively, you can use another gate to leave Kyovashad.

Will the bug be resolved?

An open beta gives players the opportunity to enjoy the game for a short period of time. During this time, the game’s developers can discover bugs and resolve them before Diablo 4’s official release.

This essentially means that Blizzard, the game’s developer, will resolve the Eastern Gatehouse bug before the game officially releases on 6 June 2023.

It is worth noting that the Eastern Gatehouse bug is not the only bug that open beta players are experiencing. Blizzard will attempt to resolve all the problems in Diablo 4 before the game is officially released.

Can you still enjoy the open beta currently?

The open beta weekend commenced on Friday, 24 March 2023 and concluded on Monday, 27 March 2023. During this time, fans of the Diablo franchise were able to enjoy Diablo 4, although they only had access to certain quests and locations.

If you are interested in enjoying the open beta, regrettably, you have missed the opportunity, as the open beta was only active for 3 days. Allegedly, this open beta was the final testing phase for Diablo 4 before its official release in June 2023.

Rite of Passage

In order to enter Kyovashad, players have to complete the Rite of Passage quest. During this quest, you have to escort Lorath Nahr, but you will be stopped by a guard in front of Kyovashad who does not allow you to enter the city.

You have to perform a cleansing ritual whereby you to take a Holy Cedar tablet. Players have to inscribe it with one of their sins before throwing the tablet into the fire. You have several choices here as you can choose to inscribe Greed, Pride, Anger, or Fear.

It is worth noting that there you can choose whichever option you want to to gain access to Kyovashad.
