Destiny 2’s hotfix 7.0.0.2 was released in week 5 of the Season of Defiance and it made several changes to the game.

Week 5 of Season of Defiance began on 30 March 2023 and with it came hotfix 7.0.0.2, which fixed various bugs and issues in the game.

Trial of Osiris
  • Wins on a seven-win Trials Passage would reward unfocusable Trials of Osiris engrams.
Neomuna Freeroam
  • Reduced the prevalence of elite enemies to lower the base difficulty of Freeroam
  • Fixed an issue that was causing Cabal turrets in Ahimsa Park to respawn too quickly.
Root of Nightmares
  • Nezarac would not react to players that were positioned in a Well of Radiance.
Difficulty
  • Combatant health scaling for 2 and 3-player fireteams reduced in the Season 20 Legendary Exotic mission.
  • Reduced enemy health in the Legend and Master-tier Nightfalls, Lost Sectors, Offensives, Battlegrounds and Hunts.

Although these fixes are very small, they can have a great influence on your gameplay. However since Season of Defiance has concluded, it is uncertain whether these changes still have a significant effect in Destiny 2.

Commendation changes

In addition to the gameplay changes, Hotfix 7.0.0.2 introduced the following:

  • Reduced the Commendation score required for Guardian Ranks 7,8 and 9. Rank 7 was 460 but is now 100, while Rank 8 is reduced from 790 to 250. Guardian rank 9, which was 1290, is now 500.
  • Removed Guardian Rank objectives that require players to give Commendations from ranks 7,8 and 9.
  • Reduced the number of Commendations needed for Hawthorne’s weekly challenge from 20 to 5.

General fixes

Hotfix 7.0.0.2 made several changes to armor and weapon features, but players may also come across changes in their power and progression:

  • Reduced the number of additional scotch stacks added by the Flare Up artifact perk in player-versus-player from 30 to 15.

What is the latest Hotfix?

The latest Hotfix for Destiny 2 was released on Saturday, 3 June 2023 and it focuses on the Season of the Deep.

The notes for this hotfix revealed that due to an issue, the Khepri’s Horn exotic Titan helmet has been disabled in all activities. Furthermore, the Iron Banner’s game type has changed from Control to Eruption.
