Although Jaina in Counter: Side is a Super Supreme Rare unit, many players believe that she is quite underwhelming.
Counter: Side is a tactical mobile game that invites players to assume the role of a chief executive officer (CEO) of Kefen. The game takes place in the near future, where 2 opposing worlds exist, one for terrible enemy creatures, and one for mankind. In these horrific times, it is up to you to fight for the future of the human race.
The game offers various activities and events that you can participate in, but it is advised that you first focus on progressing in the main storyline. Keep in mind that you need to acquire heroes, otherwise known as Employees, to be able to partake in these activities, luckily, they are easy to acquire.
How to procure an Employee
There are numerous methods players can use to obtain an Employee, though the most common is through the character recruitment. It is worth noting that this process is gacha-based, which means that the units you receive are totally random.
To recruit an Employee, you need either Quartz or Employment Contracts, both of which you can acquire as you advance in the game. Players should remember that the game has a range of unit rarities, which determines their strength and skill power. You can recruit a Normal (N), Rare (R), Supreme Rare (SR), or Super Supreme Rare (SSR) unit.
Ideally, you want to create a team that only consists of SSR Employees, as they are considered the best in the game, but unfortunately, they are extremely difficult to procure.
Counter Side: Jaina
There are currently over 100 Employees for players to acquire and play with, one of which is Jaina, who has the ability to heal herself. This SSR unit takes on the role of a Sniper on the battlefield, and her unit type is Counter.
She is the first Employee that uses the Fury resource, which means that she uses her basic attack to add “points” to her skills. When the required number of points have been attained, she can use her skills. Hence, Jaina does not need Skill Haste, as she scales off Attack Speed and since she is a Fury user, her skills do not have a cooldown.
Jaina’s skills are as follows:
Skill | Description |
Basic attack | Jaina fires at the closest target with her crossbow. |
Passive Skill: Unstable Regenerator | When Jaina’s health falls below 40 percent, she regains 10 percent health per second for 3 seconds. During this time, she is immune to all damage. |
Special Skill: Exploding Arrow | Jaina fires an exploding arrow at the closest target, which deals area of effect (AoE) damage. |
Ultimate Skill: Temporal Shift | Jaina deploys her crossbow which deals a massive amount of damage to the closest target. The damage of the skill is increased by up to 50 percent, but it depends on her current health points. She recovers 2.5 percent health per second for 5 seconds after casting this skill. |
Jaina’s statistics
All the units in the game possess similar statistics, but how much of each statistic a unit has differs. These statistics can increase as the Employees reach higher levels, which means that they get stronger as they level up.
The table below outlines Jaina’s statistics without any gear equipped and with no passive bonuses included. Her statistics at level 50 are as follows:
Statistic | Player-versus-environment (PvE) | Player-versus-player (PvP) |
Evasion | 59 | 59 |
Hit | 1315 | 1315 |
Critical | 652 | 652 |
Defence | 143 | 90 |
Attack | 3627 | 906 |
Health points | 9106 | 2054 |
Which gear should Jaina wear?
You will acquire various gear sets as you advance in the game, and each one has different effects and abilities. Even though you can equip Jaina with any gear, it is not recommended that you do. This is because some sets are a better fit and will increase her performance on the battlefield. It is advised that you use the following gear in both PvE and PvP modes:
- Set: Attack Speed or Spectral Blaze
- Anti-Striker and Anti-ground sub statistics
Is Jaina worth it?
Some players believe that Jaina is quite underwhelming, since her Basic Attack is one of the slowest in the game. Even if you stack Attack Speed (ASPD), her attacks are too slow to deal any damage.
Furthermore, Jaina is quite “squishy,” meaning that she is very easy to kill. Her statistics are abysmal, and her skills are referred to as “cheat death” abilities, but even so, it is easy to proc them and defeat her.
